Press Release 2006

Beach Culture, Lifestyle, and routine. On April 22nd. Emeralds from the Sea will emerge again on Navarre Beach. The Gulf Coast Surf Sisters' third annual Surf Classic. We are going to have a day of Surfing, in which girls will share camaraderie, learn the basics of surf etiquette, and challenge each other. With lifeguard's present and tethered to a surfboard, a clinic will be provided to girls of all ages. Other events will include an assisted Whittaker rider's competition for the novice and various divisions of longboard and shortboard for the advanced girls. These contest have proven to bring girls from neighboring towns as well as far away. A goodie bag, contest T-shirt and lunch prepared by Christian Surfers is provided the day of the meet. Visitors will dine, sleep, and tour in our beautiful neighbor hoods. My guess when they see our emerald green water and perfect waves the best-kept secret will be pirated. And crowds will in sue. I know the community will have a great time as women's surfing has always been most entertaining. Sure to be a Kodak moment it has always been a media daring. I predict a huge gathering on our beach with people who care about how they leave it and wish to preserve it. Because it is this love that fuels their passion, these girls will gather. A pre-contest sunset session and reception will kick off at Cocodrie's Friday evening and a last chance for girls to pre-register. Information can be found at www.GulfCoastSurfSisters.com the script.
